Description & Application:
Fine granite sand with sub angular grains of quartz, white feldspar, black tourmaline, and with a mica sparkle. This sand is not only suited to restoration projects requiring traditional mortars in the West Country and Scotland, but also for light colour cement mortar for use with granite and grey building / paving products in the built environment.

The sand contains a relatively high percentage of fine particles which can cause shrinkage crack problems if lime mortars are not cured carefully (ie. kept damp until fully cured).

Sand is supplied with a natural moisture content. Our kiln dried granite sand product reference 3235 is recommended for joint filling of paving products.
