Description and Application:
The mellow texture of Cotswold rockery stone makes it best suited to "country" garden themes, and product placements.

The stone is a relatively soft limestone, hence, we would not recommend its use in aquaria

Cathedral City rockery is generally held as a stock item for immediate delivery.

Is Limestone Suitable for Alpine Rock Gardens ?
We would agree with much of the published wisdom that the softer and thinly laminated (often called Oolitic limestones) are probably not suitable for alpine rockeries as they can easily break down under the action of frost and plant root growth.

However, we would challenge the view that limestone in general is not suitable due to its calcium carbonate (lime) content. We would contend that if the stone is clean before being built into a rockery, the weathering effect of rainfall on a hard limestone is unlikely to alter the pH of the surrounding soil within several lifetimes.

Consider that the Alpine region of Europe being the type area for "Apline" plants is geologically predominantly composed of limestone.
