German Glass Glitter. Versatile Professional Festive Shimmer & Sparkle.

Merchandise Production:
Add shimmer and sparkle to all fantasy merchandise but especially traditional festive creations and cards. The glitter may be attached to surfaces and fabrics using conventional adhesives including hot glue.

German glass glitter is convenient to handle and colours can be easily mixed and overlaid to dramatic effect.

Imaging and Film Assignments:
Unique among modern glitters, glass glitter holds no electrostatic charge, hence as it doesn't "cling" to surfaces (and fingers !). In itself this is significant benefit for photographic assignments, but also unlike plastic glitter, glass glitter can be accurately sprinkled, mixed, brushed and placed.
Top Tip: Add a sprinkling of silver glass glitter on top of coloured glitters for an extra sparkle.

Resin and Terrazzo Surfaces:
This glitter has a density similar to that of "normal" aggregates. This makes it ideal for resin and concrete screeds as the particles are less likely to segregate when mixing.

Window Dressing:
Silver glitter looks spectacular when lit, and especially so when mixed with turquoise and blue to create flowing water effects. As the weight of glass glitter can be up to five times greater than plastic based products it is substantially easier to place and finally clear away when used for window and event displays.

Theatres and Public Events:
German glass glitter is neither combustible or explosive making it suitable for theatres and public events.

Restoration and Repairs:
Use to repair and restore the sparkle to antique curios, lighting and Christmas decor.

What is German Glass Glitter?
This top quality glass glitter, often referred to as "diamond dust", is manufactured in Germany by Sigmund Lindner the world's leading supplier of glitter and glass beads. The silver based colour coating and random shape provides for a high brilliance and a distinctive colour spectrum, setting itself aside from monochromatic plastic glitter. The colour coating has been further "sealed", making the glitter particles both waterproof and resistant to solvents.
Glitter thickness, nominal 250 micron (0.25mm)

Colour:
Every care is taken to provide accurate images, however, it can be challenging to fully demonstrate the colour and sparkle of glitter products. Please ask for samples if colour is critical to your application.

Availability: Product is generally held as a stock item for immediate dispatch.

Glitter in History:
Mankind has always been partial to a bit of "bling"!. There is evidence that naturally occurring mica was used in prehistoric times to adorn cave paintings and decorate Mayan Temples, whilst other minerals including green copper malachite, black lead galena and dark red iron oxide were used for decoration and personal adornment.

Many modern glitters are manufactured from finely cut coloured plastic. However, prior to WW2 glass glitters innovated and produced in Germany and generally known as diamante, provided Christmas sparkle and excitement to theatre and event decoration.
