Description:
The unique fluidised bed drying method allows for accurate control of moisture content and efficient removal of dust from our inert bonding sand.

The sand has principal application for providing a "key" between for instance, plastic, polystyrene, wood and metals to air-dry clay or gypsum based moulding materials. Suitable adhesive is not included, however, the dry and clean nature of the sand together with its low moisture absorption lends itself to being fixed by PVA glue and commercially available resins. The sand also provides for realism as a modelling sand/gravel analogue. Using Model Railway Nomenclature, applications include:

O Scale (1:43): 20-40mm
Ideal for quarry-scapes and stockpiles. A complete background for film and image gravel beach and river scenics.

G Scale (1:22): 10-20mm Concrete Aggregate. In the real world the largest single application for aggregates. Our inert sand can be bound with cement, but does not provide for high strength in thin sections. Epoxy and polyurethane resins or PVA glue increase strength, or use as a dust free coarse filler/extender in Jesmonite®.

Analogue architectural style exposed aggregate concrete can be achieved using stand-alone Jesmonite® or mix Jesmonite with cement powder to create ultra-realistic grey exposed aggregate concrete for precast sections, road and airport runways.

Model scale concrete can be polished to achieve realistic terrazzo style flooring tiles.

Colour & Form:
We take great care to provide accurate images, however, shade variations can occur both with the products themselves and with ambient lighting.

When used for modelling, perceived variance to colour and reflectance can occur due to base materials and adhesives used.

It can be difficult to adequately describe and visualise grain size, we do, however, show products in context with additional images.
