Lunar dust (Regolith Analogue).
Whilst the following is not a product endorsement, an open access summary and conclusion with regard to this product, (referred to as UoM-B) has been made.*
The particle shapes are angular and irregular similar to lunar regolith . Thus the material is considered to be able to provide abrasive properties as sought after for (our) engineering study into soil excavation methods.
The particle size distribution is within +1SD and -1SD of typical lunar soils up to 70μm After this, the (two) materials contain a higher percentage of finer particles. Roughly 20% of the particles are smaller than 20μm which is similar to reported regolith values. Compared to specifically engineered simulants, the industrial materials UoM-B (and UoM-W) compare well.
It can be concluded that most geotechnical parameters are relatively similar to lunar regolith and compare well to specifically made regolith simulants. Therefore materials are considered as acceptable low cost analogue materials for engineering experiments. The materials can, for instance, be used for initial tests during development of an engineering prototype.

Visualisation and Display.
The product is an ultra-fine cohesive dust similar to that found on the surface of the moon. The product will take imprints, like the famous image of Buzz Aldrin's lunar boot.

Lunar dust can be used for non-interactive museum visualisation of exhibits and for photographic set design. However, extreme care needs to be exercised to prevent ingress of the dust into photographic equipment, and "contamination" of the studio environment.

This product is not suitable for producing dust clouds in uncontrolled spaces. Suitable PPE should be employed to ensure mitigation of inhalation when handling.

The fine nature of the product, and black colour will potentially cause it to stain surfaces and suitable precautions should be taken.
