Density:
OSTO^® is a lightweight aggregate with a bulk density at point of supply of approximately 750 kg/m³.

Volume for volume OSTO^® is approximately half the weight of "normal" limestone or gravel aggregate, and is comparable in weight to industry standard "blown" lightweight aggregates which typically have higher carbon footprints.

Moisture Content:
As supplied 3-6mm OSTO^® is likely to contain a natural moisture content of approximately 10%.

Description:
OSTO^® is an innovative, fully patented, carbon negative engineered lightweight aggregate that is resistant to frost and will not break down in water.

OSTO^® is a porous aggregate with resistance to crushing comparable to established lightweight aggregates traded in the UK.

Application and Approval:
OSTO^® is primarily designed for bound applications.

Clients should confirm that the product's properties are suitable for their specific application prior to contract commencement.

Depending on performance and carbon targets, a notional replacement of OSTO^® within bound construction materials is likely to be in the order of 3 to 15%. However, a testing ladder substituting OSTO^® for aggregate is recommended to ensure that optimum design is achieved.

For unbound applications, clients should confirm that the material complies with relevant environmental requirements prior to use.

Composition:
OSTO^® is based on non toxic materials that are currently unrecyclable (October 2023) - thus contributing a new creative element to a circular economy.

Environmental Considerations:
OSTO^® diverts currently unrecyclable (october 2023) waste streams from incineration, resulting in its inherent benefit from avoided emissions.
As OSTO^® is approximately 50% the weight of "normal" aggregate, twice the volume can be safely transported, reducing vehicle movements both on and off highway.

Logistics:
This product option is supplied in a non returnable bulk bag on a pallet and stretch wrapped for additional protection and security.

Pallets are delivered by national couriers and off-loaded onto a level hard-standing using vehicle tail-lift and pallet truck. Our couriers do not offer a crane (Hiab) off-load facility.

Pallet deliveries by national couriers are not advised for locations with narrow or difficult access. Please advise during checkout or contact our office for advice if you have specific delivery requirements or concerns.

Failed deliveries due to problems with access which as not been pre-notified will be returned to our warehouse and charged for both outward and return delivery,

The immediate product wrapping, pallet stretch wrap and wooden pallet can all be recycled.
