Description & Application:
Pumice is a light weight bubbly volcanic glass - essentially a "solid foam" consisting predominantly of silica, SiO2. Deposits of pumice occur throughout the world with notable deposits on Iceland and the Italian island of Lipari.

Being a natural product pumice contains no harmful substances, it is inert with pH of around 8.0. The pebbles are resistant to frost and chemicals, and will not break down in water. They are also non-combustible and have excellent sound and thermal insulation properties.

Applications include the production of lightweight concrete, and building blocks where it is especially useful in the creation of film and theatre sets. Pumice also finds a use as a filter media for potable and industrial waste water as well as odour control.

Our clients have used pumice as pebbles in the public domain in interior and exterior landscaping where the weight of natural pebbles would not be acceptable.

Pumice absorbs colour pigments and fragrance very well and hence is useful in potpourri mixes.

This product generally contains a natural moisture content.

This product option is supplied packed in safe and easy to handle weatherproof packs stacked on a wooden pallet. Packs are stretch wrapped onto the pallet for added protection and security.

Pallets are delivered by national couriers and off-loaded onto a level hard-standing using vehicle tail-lift and pallet truck. Our couriers do not offer a crane (Hiab) off-load facility.

Pallet deliveries by national couriers are not advised for locations with narrow or difficult access. Please advise during checkout or contact our office for advice if you have specific delivery requirements or concerns.

Failed deliveries due to problems with access which as not been pre-notified will be returned to our warehouse and charged for both outward and return delivery,

The immediate product wrapping, pallet stretch wrap and wooden pallet can all be recycled.
